Robert Zebroski, commonly known as Bob Zebroski, serves as Professor of History and Interim Chair of the Department of Liberal Arts at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, formerly St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He joined the institution in 1993 and has been a longstanding member of the faculty. Zebroski holds a B.S. from Loyola University, an M.A. from Stony Brook University, the State University of New York, and a Ph.D. from Stony Brook University, the State University of New York. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the academic community through teaching and leadership in the Liberal Arts Department, focusing on historical scholarship relevant to pharmacy education.
Zebroski's scholarly output includes several notable publications that explore the history of pharmacy and related historical events. His book A Brief History of Pharmacy: Humanity's Search for Wellness, published by Routledge in 2016, traces the evolution of pharmacy practices. In 2018, he co-authored 150 Years of Educating Pharmacy Innovators: A History of St. Louis College of Pharmacy with D. Doyle, published by Reedy Press in St. Louis, Missouri, chronicling the institution's legacy. Other works include the article 'Lieutenant Peter Petrovich Schmidt: Officer, gentleman, and reluctant revolutionary' in Jahrbücher für Geschichte Osteuropas (volume 59, issue 1, pages 28-50, 2011); the chapter 'The battleship Potemkin and its discontents, 1905' in Naval Mutinies of the Twentieth Century: An International Perspective (Frank Cass, pages 7-25, 2003); and 'Pharmacy and history: The right prescription for an uncertain future' in American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education (volume 62, issue 2, pages 218-219, 1998). These publications demonstrate his expertise in historical analysis pertinent to pharmacy and naval history.
