Bruce Cameron serves as Professor and Department Head of the Department of Textiles, Apparel Design and Merchandising at Louisiana State University, where he holds the Kathryn Norwood and Claude Fussell Alumni Professorship. He obtained his PhD in Textile Technology from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 1986, and his BSc with Honours Class I in Textile Technology from the same university in 1983. Cameron's extensive academic career includes a progression of roles at the University of Wyoming from 1986 to 2018: Visiting Assistant Professor (1986-1992), Assistant Professor (1992-1997), Associate Professor (1997-2012), Associate Professor and Department Head (2012-2017), and Professor and Department Head (2017-2018). Prior to his academic appointments, he worked as a Professional Officer at the University of New South Wales in 1986. Since 2018, he has led the department at Louisiana State University, overseeing programs in textiles, apparel design, and merchandising.
At LSU, Cameron teaches courses including TAM 2040 Textile Science, TAM 3022 Apparel Quality Analysis, and TAM 3050 Sustainability for Apparel and Textiles. His scholarly contributions encompass peer-reviewed publications on textile processing, sustainable materials, and pedagogy in apparel education.
