Bruna L. B. Façanha is a postdoctoral researcher at the Instituto de Ciências Biológicas of Universidade Federal do Pará. She earned a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Universidade Federal do Amapá and completed her doctorate in zoology at Universidade Federal do Pará in 2025, with a focus on biodiversity and conservation.
Her research centers on entomology, ecology, and macroecology, particularly the study of sarcosaprophagous flies and blowflies in the Amazon region. Key publications include work on trap and bait efficiency for Calliphoridae and Mesembrinellidae in 2022, the effects of diazinon on Calliphoridae assemblages in 2023, colonization patterns of blowflies in pig carcasses in 2024, collaborative networks for Amazonian biodiversity knowledge in 2025, and accessibility influences on research efforts regarding Amazonian sarcosaprophagous flies in 2026. She contributes to understanding ecological impacts of environmental change on Amazonian invertebrates through her investigations and publications.
Pesquisa da UFPA, UEMA e USP alerta para risco de extinção de moscas sarcosaprófagas na Amazônia antes de descrição científica. Lacunas de conhecimento em 40% das florestas destacam urgência para conservação.
