Frieden's research focuses on protein folding, aggregation, intrinsically disordered proteins, and fluorescence methods, particularly investigating apolipoprotein E lipoproteins as a risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer’s disease and bacterial systems leading to biofilm formation.
