About Carl

Associate Professor Carl Schneider serves in the Sydney School of Pharmacy within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. A registered nurse and registered pharmacist, he brings broad clinical experience from acute and community care settings in Australia and the United Kingdom. Schneider holds a PhD, Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours (BPharm Hon), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), Postgraduate Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGGradCert Higher Ed), and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), awarded in 2017. He joined the University of Sydney in 2013, progressing to his current role where he contributes to pharmacy education, research, and interprofessional practice.

Schneider's research specializations center on pharmacy practice, medicines optimisation, quality use of medicines (QUM), improvement science, patient safety, and health services research, with particular emphasis on optimizing medication management for aging populations and at care transitions.
