Carol Igglesden is an Associate Lecturer in the School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry within the Faculty of Humanities at Curtin University. She serves as the Unit Coordinator for APC and is part of the Office of the Provost portfolio. Based at the Curtin Perth campus in Building 209, the Humanities building, she contributes to the delivery of foundational communication courses essential for student success in academic and professional contexts. Igglesden is actively involved in teaching COMS1010 Academic and Professional Communications, guiding students in developing key skills in academic writing, professional presentation, and critical communication strategies. Her role emphasizes practical, hands-on learning in media, creative arts, and social inquiry disciplines.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Carol Igglesden has participated in university-wide initiatives that promote creative and collaborative learning. She was involved in the Curtin Cultural Makathon event held on 10-11 November 2016 at the Curtin University Library Makerspace, collaborating with peers to foster innovative educational experiences. Her work aligns with projects such as Enhancing critical reflective practice through collaborative creative technologies, featured in the Teachers and Learning Forum program in 2017 alongside Jane Grellier from UniReady at Curtin University. These contributions highlight her dedication to integrating creative technologies and reflective practices in humanities education. Igglesden's office is located in Room 348, facilitating direct student consultations.
