Caroline Whittaker serves as Senior Adjunct Professor in the Business and Technology division at Bellevue College, a position she has held since 2011. She is also designated as Teaching Faculty in the Business Management department and contributes to the First-Year Seminar (FYS) program. Dr. Whittaker Leffall possesses a Master of Business Administration in Financial Management and a Doctor of Business Administration with a specialization in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University, which she completed in 2021 following a successful dissertation defense. Her doctoral dissertation, titled “Leadership in Higher Education: Exploring the Disparity of African American Representation in Washington State Colleges,” investigates the barriers and challenges confronting African Americans pursuing leadership roles in Washington State colleges. This research underscores her academic interests in higher education leadership and equity issues within community colleges.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Caroline Whittaker, also known as Carol, maintains extensive professional experience in human resource management, business management, organizational leadership, and diversity and equity efforts. She is deeply engaged in campus governance, currently serving as an Executive Council Member of the Bellevue College Association of Higher Education (BCAHE), with election as Adjunct Member in 2025. Previously, she chaired the Faculty Assessment Coordinating Team (FACT), co-directed Faculty Commons, and participated in numerous committees across the Bellevue College campus. Whittaker has facilitated workshops and remains devoted to advancing a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus environment. Her commitment to education is reflected in her passion for teaching, where she values mutual learning with students and advocates for their success alongside that of her colleagues.
