Casaundra F. Wyatt, Ph.D., RN, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at Kennesaw State University’s Wellstar School of Nursing, where she also serves as the Part-Time Clinical Faculty Coordinator and Liaison. A dedicated nursing educator and clinician with over 25 years of experience, Wyatt specializes in nursing education, administration, and clinical instruction across acute care, management, adult health, and women’s health. Her academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Education and Administration from William Carey University (2018), a Master of Science in Nursing (Nurse Educator Track) from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University (2008), and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University (1998). She maintains active Registered Nurse licenses in Georgia and the eNLC, as well as Basic Life Support certification.
Wyatt’s professional career encompasses key academic and clinical appointments. At Chattahoochee Technical College’s ASN Program, she has served as Faculty Administrator and Course Coordinator since 2020, managing administrative support, policy development, student recruitment, advisement, retention, accreditation, and instruction in Family Nursing Concepts, Adult Health I and II, Introduction to Professional Nursing, and Transitions to Nursing Practice. She previously held the roles of Nursing Program Director (2019–2020) and Course Coordinator (2013–present). Her clinical experience at WellStar Atlanta Medical Center (2001–2016) involved Staff Nurse, Relief Charge Nurse, Preceptor, and Facility Manager positions in the Mother-Baby Unit and Telemetry and Cardiac Intervention Unit. Earlier, she was an Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University (2009–2011), teaching maternal-newborn and fundamentals of nursing.
Wyatt’s research interests include integrating technology such as QR codes in associate degree nursing education, preventive strategies for hospital-acquired infections, and challenges faced by nurse educators across generations. Her key publication is the 2018 dissertation, Exploring the perceptions of integrating quick response (QR) codes in associate degree nursing education. She has received awards including First Place for Peer-Reviewed Research Poster Board Presentation from the Georgia Association for Nursing Education (2019), Sigma Theta Tau International Dissertation Research Induction (2021), Faculty Grant Award (2016), and Leading by Example Award (2016) from Chattahoochee Technical College. Wyatt is involved in professional organizations such as Sigma Theta Tau, Georgia Association for Nursing Education, and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.
