Chan Tong Lam is a Professor in the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Macao Polytechnic University, teaching courses such as Data Communications, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, and Wireless Communications and Networks. He obtained his B.Sc. (Eng.) and M.Sc. (Eng.) degrees from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, in 1998 and 2000, respectively, followed by a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, in 2007. A Senior Member of the IEEE and Member of the IET, he actively contributes to professional organizations in his field.
Lam's research specializations include mobile wireless communications, machine learning applications in communications, digital image processing, intelligent transportation systems, and quantum computation. His work also addresses networks, quantum communication protocols, anomaly detection of cyber threats in industrial IoT networks, index modulation schemes for vehicle-to-infrastructure communications, image tampering detection using noise-assistant networks, and complementarity in software code complexity metrics.
