Rate My Professor Chrissy Monteleone

Associate Professor Chrissy Monteleone serves as Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching at La Trobe University and as Co-Director of the Science of Mathematics Education (SOME) Lab. Her academic work centers on mathematics education and professional practice, with research specializations in critical mathematical thinking capabilities among young students and the development of explicit teacher questioning techniques to support student reasoning and explanation.

Monteleone has contributed to the field through publications including the 2023 paper 'Conceptualising critical mathematical thinking in young students' and the 2018 paper 'Defining the Characteristics of Critical Mathematical Thinking.'
