About Christine
Christine Soo is an Associate Professor of Management and Organisations at the UWA Business School, University of Western Australia. She earned her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of New South Wales. With over 15 years of consulting and research experience across industries including legal, advertising, transport, recruitment, management consulting, engineering, and resources, she has collaborated with organizations to enhance work processes for better learning, creativity, and innovation. Previously, she served as a Lecturer in the School of Marketing at the University of Technology Sydney, Adjunct Faculty in the AGSM MBA Program at the University of New South Wales, and visiting researcher at INSEAD and Copenhagen Business School. At UWA, she acts as Honours Coordinator for Management and Organisations and has previously contributed to the Business School's Research, Ethics, and Recruitment committees. She was an Editorial Board Member for Organization Studies from 2011 to 2016. In teaching, she has delivered units on Strategic Management, Organisational Learning and Innovation, Knowledge Management, and Strategic Marketing at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She received a Business School teaching award for undergraduate coursework in 2012.
Christine Soo's research focuses on organizational learning and innovation, knowledge sharing and management, strategic human resource management, dynamic capabilities, and strategic human capital. Her work has been published in prestigious journals including Journal of International Business Studies, Group & Organization Management, Management and Organization Review, and International Public Management Journal. Key publications include "Knowledge Management: Philosophy, Processes, and Pitfalls" (2002, with T. Devinney, D. Midgley, and A. Deering), which has garnered significant citations, "A social influence view of the internationalization of cultural products" (2025, with X. Huang and D. Fan), "Do It Right the First Time? Exploring the First Cross-border Acquisition and Expansion Frequency of Emerging Market Multinationals" (2024, with S. Wu and D. Fan), and "Exploring Volunteer Turnover Reasons, Intentions, and Behavior" (2026, with D. Holtrop et al.). Her Google Scholar profile shows over 2,233 citations and an h-index of 17. Recently, she has conducted extensive research in the disability sector over the past decade, examining values-driven care, organizational capabilities for service delivery, family caregiver training, and culturally safe care for Indigenous communities, influencing service design, delivery, and government policy.
