Christopher Khor, recognized for his past role as Director of Research at Curtin Medical School, Curtin University, is a leading gastroenterologist and advanced endoscopist. He obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore and completed advanced clinical fellowships in ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound. As Clinical Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, he contributes to academic medicine while serving as Senior Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Singapore General Hospital. His career includes significant leadership positions at Singapore General Hospital, such as Director of the Endoscopy Centres from 2013 to 2019 and Chief of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology from 2015 to 2018. Khor holds fellowships including FRCP, FAMS, and FASGE, underscoring his professional standing in the field.
Khor's academic interests center on pancreato-biliary endoscopy, endoscopic resection, therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic quality, education, and regional collaboration in endoscopy. He has produced over 80 PubMed-indexed publications, including 'Severity of gastric intestinal metaplasia predicts the risk of gastric cancer' (2022), 'International consensus statements for endoscopic management of distal biliary strictures' (2020), 'The impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic on gastroenterology practice and endoscopy services' (2021), and contributions to guidelines on endoscopic practices. His impact is evident in leadership roles such as President of the Asia-Pacific Society for Digestive Endoscopy, President of the GI-TAP Society, Endoscopy Program Director for Asian-Pacific Digestive Week 2025, Past President of the Gastroenterological Society of Singapore, and Past Chairman of the Chapter of Gastroenterologists, Academy of Medicine Singapore. Khor frequently serves as faculty for advanced endoscopy demonstrations and teaching workshops, promoting innovation and best practices across the Asia-Pacific region.
