Yap Chuan Sheng is a lecturer in the Pharmacy Practice Discipline, School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia. He earned a Master of Clinical Pharmacy from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) from UCSI University. Before joining Monash University, he served as a clinical pharmacy lecturer in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UCSI University and as a pharmacist at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan.
Yap Chuan Sheng's research specializations are pharmacy practice, public health, and tropical disease, with outputs contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being). He maintains active research from 2017 to 2022 and is a fully registered pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia, as well as a life member of the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS). Key publications include "Assessment of prevalence, knowledge of polycystic ovary syndrome and health-related practices among women in Klang Valley: a cross-sectional survey" (Frontiers in Endocrinology, 2022, with Jia Ean Goh et al.); "Evaluation of trough-based vancomycin therapy in achieving targeted area under the curve in haemodialysis cases" (Indonesian Journal of Pharmacy, 2022, with Fazlollah Keshavarzi et al.); "Knowledge, attitude and practice of general public towards counterfeit and adulterated medicines: A cross-sectional study in Malaysia" (Current Trends in Biotechnology and Pharmacy, 2020, with Choo Shiuan Por et al.); "Mobile health applications for caring of older people: review and comparison" (Therapeutic Innovation & Regulatory Science, 2018, with VL Anthony Berauk et al.); and "Effect of standardized warfarin treatment protocol on anticoagulant effect: Comparison of a warfarin medication therapy adherence clinic with usual medical care" (Frontiers in Pharmacology, 2017, with Salihah Aidit et al.). He teaches units such as PHR1011 - Professional Practice 1, BPS3082 - Applied Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics and Product Development, and PHR3062 - Student Experiential Placements 1.
