Chung-Hsing Yeh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of Information Technology, at Monash University. He graduated from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, with a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) in 1977 (top grade) and a Master of Management Science in 1982 (topping the class). He then held several professional appointments in Taiwan, including teaching officer at the Army Engineering School during military service, assistant engineer at Nan Ya Plastic Corporation, research fellow at the Transportation Planning Board, and senior operations officer at Yangming Marine Transport Corporation. He passed Taiwan's national higher examinations in general management and water transport management. Yeh joined Monash University for his PhD in Operations Research and Information Systems, which he completed in 1988 in record time with the best possible result. At Monash, he advanced through positions of research assistant, tutor, lecturer, senior lecturer, to his current role as associate professor. He also served as Visiting Professor at National Cheng Kung University from 2004 to 2014.
His research encompasses multicriteria decision analysis, applied artificial intelligence, intelligent decision support systems, fuzzy logic and neural network applications, computer vision and image processing, optimisation modelling, performance evaluation, transport research, recycling operations, production planning and management, and supply chain management. Yeh has authored numerous publications, accumulating over 11,200 citations according to Google Scholar, with notable recent papers including "Developing effective intervention strategies to improve public participation in household waste recycling program: A data-driven agent-based behavior analysis approach" (2025), "Intelligent forecasting and distribution in cross-border e-commerce import trade: A deep-learning-based iterative optimization approach" (2025), "REHRSeg: Unleashing the power of self-supervised super-resolution for resource-efficient 3D MRI segmentation" (2025), "A novel capacity-based approach for measuring alternative interactions in multicriteria decision analysis" (2024), and "How to cooperate in a three-tier food delivery service supply chain" (2024). He has developed key algorithms incorporating Just-in-Time concepts for manufacturing management software systems. Yeh provides consulting services to governments and industries in Australia, China, and Taiwan, and testified as an expert witness in the Federal Court of Australia on software intellectual property. He is recognized in Marquis Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, and Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and holds Senior Memberships in ACM and IEEE. Yeh has served as Associate Editor for Omega and Editor-in-Chief for Asia Pacific Management Review, reviews grants for ARC and international bodies, and participates in faculty committees such as the FIT Graduate Research Committee.
