Dr. Connor Smith serves as Lecturer (Teaching and Leadership) in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at Macquarie University. He teaches statistics units including STAT2371 Statistics and STAT2173 Introduction to Probability. His research focuses on statistical methods, with publications including Bayesian stability selection and inference on selection probabilities (2026), Stability selection via variable decorrelation (2026), and Robust subtractive stability measures for fast and exhaustive feature importance ranking and selection in generalised linear models (2022). He received the Faculty of Science and Engineering Teaching Development Grant in 2022 and contributed to inter-departmental collaboration efforts recognized by the Winner - Faculty of Science and Engineering Award for Inter-School Collaboration in 2023.
