Dr. D. Nisar Ahmed serves as Director and Professor at MEASI Institute of Management, Chennai, with over three decades of experience in government service and academia. He joined the collegiate service in 1996 and assumed the role of Director at MEASI on October 25, 2011. An erudite scholar, he earned a Ph.D. in Management from Alagappa University in 2005, complemented by an extensive array of postgraduate qualifications spanning multiple disciplines. These include M.B.A. degrees in Finance (Madurai Kamaraj University, 2001), Human Resources (Vinayaga Missions Research University, 2009; Manonmanian Sundaranar University, 2012), and Marketing (Manonmanian Sundaranar University, 2010); M.Com. (Madras University, 1989); M.A. degrees in Political Science (Madras University, 1996), Public Administration (Madurai Kamaraj University, 1998), Human Rights Duties & Education (Madras University, 2004), and others; M.Sc. in Psychology (Madras University, 2001) and Medical Sociology (Madras University, 2012); M.L.M. (Madurai Kamaraj University, 1993); LL.B. (Bangalore University, 1996); M.L. in Administrative & Labour Laws (Annamalai University, 1999); M.Ed. (Annamalai University, 1990); and M.S. in Education Management (Alagappa University, 2007), among numerous postgraduate diplomas. His subjects handled encompass Legal Systems in Business, Industrial Labour Relations, Human Resource Management, Wage & Salary Administration, Union Management Relations, Labour Relations, Merchant Banking, and Financial Services.
Prior to his current position, Dr. Ahmed served as Lecturer from 1996, Vice-Principal (part-time) from 2003, and Professor from 2008 at New College Institute of Management, Chennai. Earlier roles include Special Branch Assistant at O/o the DGP, Intelligence, Chennai (1992-1996); Personnel Officer at Indo International Ltd. (1991-1992); and Higher Secondary Teacher at Sir MCTM Boys HSS (1989-1990). He has published papers in referred journals such as 'Quality Assurance in Technical Education' (2007), 'Design of ICT in Health Care Services' (2007), and 'Economic Fact of Information Technology' (2008), and contributed articles to Trinity Mirror on governance topics (2000). Dr. Ahmed has guided 39 M.Phil. scholars and 8 Ph.D. candidates from Bharathiyar University since 2007. He is a life member of the Madras Management Association, Indian Society of Public Administration, Indian Society of Victimology, Indian Society of Criminology, and International Centre for Alternative Disputes Resolution. As an expert, he served on the National Board of Accreditation evaluation committees, University of Madras selection panels for academic appointments, and as Chief Superintendent for university examinations.
