Professor Dale Pinto is a John Curtin Distinguished Professor of Taxation Law at Curtin University. He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Taxation with Honours from the University of Sydney, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business with Distinction and a Bachelor of Business with Distinction from Curtin University. Since joining Curtin in 1989 after a period at the Australian Taxation Office, he has served as Professor of Taxation Law and Academic Discipline Lead of Taxation in the Curtin Law School. His research specializations include international tax, superannuation, electronic commerce, tax administration and tax policy. He has authored numerous publications, including the 2003 book E-Commerce and Source-Based Income Taxation, and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Curtin Law and Taxation Review and the Australian Tax Review. Pinto has received awards such as the Australasian Tax Teachers Association Medal, the Tax Institute Meritorious Service Award and life membership of the Australasian Tax Teachers Association. He is Chair of the Academic Board and a member of the University Council at Curtin University, and holds leadership roles in organizations including the Tax Institute, CPA Australia and the International Fiscal Association.
