About Daniel

Daniel de Araújo Brito Buttros earned his medical degree from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo in 2004. He completed a medical residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) from 2005 to 2008, followed by a residency in Mastology at the same institution from 2008 to 2010. He obtained a master’s degree in Gynecology, Obstetrics and Mastology from UNESP in 2012 and a doctorate in the same field from UNESP in 2018, with a thesis examining the association of HSP 60 and 70 with cardiovascular risk factors in postmenopausal women treated for breast cancer.

Dr. Buttros serves as a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Tocoginecologia at UNESP Botucatu Medical School and as a faculty member in the medicine course at Claretiano Centro Universitário in Rio Claro, São Paulo. His academic work focuses on mastology, with research interests including breast cancer, menopause, metabolic syndrome, obesity, cardiovascular disease, sexuality, and quality of life after breast cancer treatment. He is the principal researcher of the Projeto Flor Azul, which emphasizes quality of life and lifestyle factors following breast cancer. He has also held leadership roles such as president of the Communication Commission of the Sociedade Brasileira de Mastologia and has organized and participated in numerous national and international congresses and symposia on mastology and related topics.
