David Turi, Ph.D., serves as Professor and Associate Dean of Undergraduate Business Programs in the School of Business and Information Sciences at Felician University. He joined the faculty in 2004 and has held various leadership positions, including Acting Dean of the school in 2020. Turi earned his B.B.A. in Managerial Accounting from Pace University, M.B.A. in Managerial Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University in 2012. Prior to his academic career, he accumulated over 30 years of experience in managerial accounting and financial analysis, serving as Controller for the William Morris Agency Inc. in New York City and Financial Analyst for The Dow Jones Company. His professional experience spans the entertainment and media industry worldwide, including roles with international talent agencies.
Turi's research focuses on student engagement and student development. His doctoral dissertation, "Examination of the relationship between student engagement and the development of character in mission-driven faith-based colleges and universities as measured by the National Survey of Student Engagement," was completed in 2012. He has presented numerous papers at conferences such as the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), including "Accountability Reform and the Higher Education Act of 2008" (2012) and "Charting the Integration of Ethics in the Business Curriculum" (2011). Publications include works accepted in the Journal of Educational Leadership, such as "Assessment of the Online Instructor" (2011). In 2010, he received the Distinguished Research Award from the Allied Academies for "The impact of voluntary accountability on the design of higher education assessment." Turi teaches undergraduate courses like Principles of Financial Accounting I, Managerial Accounting, Research and Analysis using Statistics, and graduate courses including Managerial Accounting and Statistical Analysis. He serves on the Institutional Review Board, Institutional Assessment Council, and was elected to the IACBE Board of Directors as Middle States Regional Assembly Director. Additionally, he is president of the Middle States Region of the IACBE and a permanent member of the Franciscan Center for Mission Integration.
