David Marc Virshup is Professor of Pediatrics, Professor in Pharmacology and Cancer Biology, and Professor in Cell Biology at Duke University School of Medicine, where he has held these appointments since 2007. He is also a Member of the Duke Cancer Institute. His research focuses on Wnt signaling and cancer biology, circadian rhythms, and pediatric hematology/oncology. Virshup earned his M.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 1981.
Virshup previously served as founding director of the Program in Cancer and Stem Cell Biology at Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore and holds the title of Emeritus Professor there. His laboratory work has centered on signal transduction pathways, with particular emphasis on Wnt signaling. He maintains an active affiliation with Duke University while contributing to ongoing research in these areas.
