Dr Delane Osborne is a Lecturer in the Curtin Law School at Curtin University, where she teaches a number of Business Law units. She also serves as Deputy Director of Engagement and Impact for the Curtin Law School. Holding post-nominals PhD, Honours (Marketing), and B.Com, Dr Osborne is a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM). Her professional contributions extend to fostering engagement between the academic community and external stakeholders, enhancing the impact of legal education and research.
Dr Osborne's research interests encompass marketing areas such as social influence, social media, and practices surrounding marketing to children, alongside teaching topics including assessment design, feedback, and student engagement. She has received the Dean's Award for Engagement and Impact for three consecutive years (2021, 2022, 2023) and the Engagement and Impact Award from Curtin Law School. Key publications include 'Family communication as a predictor of intergenerational influence' (2012, co-authored with C. Marchegiani, in Proceedings of the Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy Conference), work on intergenerational influence on brand preference and consumption orientations in Australia, and contributions to Association for Consumer Research Volume 48 on mother-daughter communication influencing luxury fashion consumption. Her interdisciplinary background bridges marketing insights with business law education, supporting student development in practical legal applications within commercial contexts.
