Diane Ness has demonstrated exceptional commitment through multiple staff recognitions. In a 2021 ceremony celebrating values and success from 2020, lead administrators including Diane Ness were awarded for Respect, recognizing their contributions to campus growth and development in alignment with the cultural values of integrity, collaboration, social accountability, respect, and leadership. At the 2024 Matariki staff awards, she was part of the Student Pantry Team—with Amanda Landers, Sheila Mark, Todd Moore, Tamati Te Kahu, and Kim Pasley—that received the TŌTARA TŪ KI TE PARAE / SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY award for establishing a student support initiative that exceeds standard job requirements and has earned strong positive feedback from students. In 2025, at the UOC Matariki Staff Value Awards, Diane Ness earned the Mā whero, mā pango / Collaboration award for her pivotal coordination of the electives and selectives team and significant collaboration across UOC, UOW, and DSM to implement a revised cross-campus model. She frequently acts as the primary contact for recruitment in professional roles such as Project Manager, Statistician, and Rangahau Tapuhi/Clinical Research Nurse at the Christchurch campus.
