About Dietmar

Prof. Dr. Dietmar Franzen serves as Professor for General Business Administration, in particular Financing and Risk Management, at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. He holds the position of Dean of Faculty 3: Business and Law, where he manages academic affairs, research activities, and faculty administration. Additionally, Prof. Franzen is Head of the degree course Accounting and Finance, leading the Master of Science program in Accounting and Finance. His office is located in Building 4, Room 201, and he offers office hours on Thursdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am by appointment via email.

Prof. Franzen's research specializations and teaching areas focus on general business administration, with particular emphasis on financing and risk management. He has contributed key publications to the field, including two chapters in the third edition of Kreditderivate: Handbuch für die Bank- und Anlagepraxis, edited by Burghof, Rudolph, Schäfer, Schönbucher, and Sommer, published by Schäffer-Poeschel Verlag, Stuttgart, 2015: "Grundstrukturen bei Kreditderivaten," co-authored with K. Schäfer, and "Kreditindizes und Kreditindexoptionen." He also co-authored the book Assetmanagement: Portfoliobewertung, Investmentstrategien und Risikoanalyse with Klaus Schäfer, published in 2018 by Schäffer-Poeschel Verlag, addressing critical aspects of portfolio valuation, investment strategies, and risk analysis in asset management.
