Dr. Dimitrios Diamantis served as Executive Academic Dean and Professor at Les Roches International School of Hotel Management from 2021 to 2024, having previously held the position of Dean of Graduate Studies since March 2016. He first joined the Les Roches faculty in 1999, where he supervised the launch of the institution’s inaugural MBA program. After a period teaching tourism management at Sheffield Hallam University from 2007 to 2010, he returned to Les Roches to oversee the development of its current Postgraduate Diploma and MBA programs. Earlier in his career, he began as an Associate Lecturer at Bournemouth University in 1998. Diamantis has also served as a Visiting Lecturer at KDU University College in Malaysia, Institut Paul Bocuse in France, and HTW Chur in Switzerland, and acted as an External Examiner for several UK universities. Since 2014, he has been a member of the judging panel for the Greek Tourism Awards.
Diamantis holds a PhD in Consumer Involvement and Ecotourism from Bournemouth University, an MSc in Tourism Marketing from the University of Surrey, a BA (Hons) in Hotel Management from South Bank University in London, and a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK. His research specializations encompass ecotourism, sustainable tourism, tourism management, environmental auditing, and the globalization of tourism and hospitality. Notable publications include "The Concept of Ecotourism: Evolution and Trends" (1999), "The Globalization of Tourism and Hospitality: A Strategic Perspective" (2001), "Ecotourism: Management and Assessment" (2004), "The Links Between Sustainable Tourism and Ecotourism: A Definitional and Operational Perspective" (1999), and "Stakeholder Ecotourism Management: Exchanges, Coordinations and Adaptations" (2018). With over 25 years of experience in hospitality research and teaching, his work has significantly influenced the fields of sustainability and ecotourism within hospitality education.
