Dionne Bagsby serves as Coordinator of Strategic Initiatives at Tarrant County College District Office, with responsibilities centered at the South Campus. In this administrative role within academic affairs, she supports student success and technical education programs. In March 2017, as South strategic initiative coordinator, she spearheaded the establishment of a chapter of the National Technical Honor Society specifically tailored for technical career students. According to The Collegian, Bagsby Jones emphasized its uniqueness, stating, 'You always hear about honor societies in the academic... It is specifically tailored for technical career students.' She collaborated with SE business associate professor Jeneen Sims, who suggested the idea, and faculty adviser John Bullard to implement the initiative, aiming to provide scholarships, facilitate recruitment by local businesses, and recognize students in fields like automotive, electronics, computers, IT, and telecommunications. The program seeks to inspire students to excel, offer opportunities for those below the GPA threshold, and secure careers supporting their families.
Bagsby has contributed to various campus activities, including co-organizing the Red River Triumph Car Show event on October 6, 2018, with Royce Wyatt, contactable via phone at 817-515-4308. In November 2018, she joined automotive instructor Terry Schranz and Felipe Maldonado to present accolades to students at an event covered by TCC News. She appears on the South Academic Affairs Team in Chancellor's Corner updates and is listed among faculty on the college's HB2504 Access to Course Information page for Fall 2023 terms. Bagsby holds a Master of Science degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Her efforts enhance transitional and technical student programs at Tarrant County College.
