Eduardo Carvalho-Pessoa is a professor at the Faculdade de Medicina of Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Câmpus de Botucatu, in the Departamento de Ginecologia e Obstetrícia. He holds a medical degree in Medicina Humana from UNESP (1999), a master's degree (2005), and a doctorate (2009) in the postgraduate program in Ginecologia, Obstetrícia e Mastologia from the same institution. He serves as a physician in the department and is responsible for the Setor de Diagnóstico por Imagem, the Setor de Oncoplastia, and the Setor de Reconstrução Mamária at the Centro de Avaliação em Mastologia Prof. Emérito Laurival A. De Luca (CAM-HCFMB).

Carvalho-Pessoa is a member of the Comissão Nacional Especializada em Imaginologia Mamária of FEBRASGO and a titular member of the Sociedade Brasileira de Mastologia Regional São Paulo. He previously served as Tesoureiro Adjunto of the society for the 2017–2020 term and as Vice-Presidente for the 2020–2022 term. His academic and clinical work centers on mastology, with involvement in research projects addressing breast cancer imaging, tumor biology, prognosis, and related topics through FAPESP-supported initiatives.
