About Elisa

Elisa Adriasola is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Management and Organisations department at the UWA Business School, University of Western Australia. She completed her Ph.D. in Management at UWA in 2015, focusing on motivation for multiple goals and the roles of self-concordance, task prototypicality, and transformational leadership. She also holds a Master’s in Educational Management from UWA (2009), a Diploma in Human Resources Management (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, 2003), and a Bachelor’s in Education with a specialization in Mathematics from the same university (2003). Her career at UWA includes roles as Research Associate and Lecturer. Subsequently, she served as Assistant Professor of Management at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (2015-2022) and currently as Assistant Professor at Universidad Diego Portales (since 2022), while maintaining her adjunct position at UWA.

Adriasola’s research specializations include leadership development, shared leadership, diversity issues in leadership, women’s leadership development, work motivation, team diversity management, team leadership, and employee well-being. She has received major awards such as the FONDECYT Iniciación grant in 2016 and the Becas Chile postgraduate scholarship in 2009, securing over US$200,000 in research funding from international (e.g., US Army Research Institute) and national (FONDECYT, ANID) bodies. Her key publications feature "From a leader and a follower to shared leadership: An identity-based structural model for shared leadership emergence" (2021, with R.G. Lord) in The Connecting Leader, "International differences in employee silence motives: Scale validation, prevalence, and relationships with culture characteristics across 33 countries" (2021, Journal of Organizational Behavior), "Leadership Development in Women STEM Students: The Interplay of Task Behaviors, Self-Efficacy, and University Training" (2024, Behavioral Sciences), and "Becoming a Leader? Reflect on Your Goals" (2025, Routledge). With over a decade of teaching experience in leadership, organizational behavior, human resources, and diversity across MBA, postgraduate, and undergraduate programs, she contributes to international scholarly networks in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Finland, and Australia. Adriasola is affiliated with the Advancing Leadership Research group, the Leadership Research Initiative at the Kansas Leadership Center, and is a founding member of the Chilean Society of Psychology and Organizational Behavior.
