Dr. Eltayeb Suliman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Omdurman Islamic University. He obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Khartoum, a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of Khartoum in 2008, and a PhD in Pharmaceutics from China Pharmaceutical University in 2013. His academic career at Omdurman Islamic University began as a Teaching Assistant in Pharmaceutics laboratories from 2001 to 2006, progressed to Lecturer from 2008 to 2013, and he has served as Associate Professor since 2013, teaching pharmaceutical technology, biopharmaceutics, and pharmacokinetics. Prior to his academic roles, he completed housemanship at Sennar Hospital, national service at Khartoum Hospital, worked as a pharmacy inspector at the Ministry of Health, medical representative at M.M. Pharma & Chemicals, and managed drug registration and scientific office operations.
Dr. Suliman holds concurrent associate professorships at several Sudanese universities, including Sudan International University, University of Medical Sciences and Technology, Ibn Sina University, University of Khartoum, Ahfad University, and University of Gezira, where he teaches subjects such as nanoparticulate drug delivery systems, clinical pharmacokinetics, therapeutic drug monitoring, nanobiotechnology, quality assurance, GMP, and manufacturing processes. His research specializes in pharmaceutics, encompassing nanoparticulate drug delivery systems, biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, solubility enhancement of poorly soluble drugs, targeted drug delivery, natural excipients, and osmotic pump systems. Key publications include "Preparation and evaluation of colon adhesive pellets of 5-aminosalicylic acid" (International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2014), "Polybutylcyanoacrylate nanocarriers as promising targeted drug delivery systems" (Journal of Drug Targeting, 2015), "Solubility enhancement of some poorly soluble drugs by solid dispersion using Ziziphus spina-christi gum polymer" (Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal, 2022), and "Carbamazepine solubility enhancement in tandem with swellable polymer osmotic pump tablet" (Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2014). He has contributed to books on similar topics, attended conferences including the Chinese Pharmaceutical Conference (2012) and the World Congress on Cancer Science and Therapy (2013), and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Omdurman Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
