He has produced several peer-reviewed publications in prominent journals within chiropractic and pain management fields. Key works include 'Failure to define low back pain as a disease or an episode renders research on causality unsuitable: results of a systematic review' (Chiropractic & Manual Therapies, 2018), which examines methodological flaws due to inconsistent LBP definitions. This was followed by 'Can We Trust the Literature on Risk Factors and Triggers for Low Back Pain? A Systematic Review of a Sample of Contemporary Literature' (Pain Research and Management, 2019), assessing the trustworthiness of contemporary LBP studies. In 2020, he published the study protocol 'The prognostic merit of self-reported triggers of recurrent low back pain' (Chiropractic & Manual Therapies), aimed at evaluating trigger-based prognosis. His most recent publication, 'Exploring 1st- and 2nd-year chiropractic students' willingness and attitudes toward peer physical examination' (Journal of Chiropractic Education, 2023), reports on surveys conducted with Murdoch University students during practical classes. Ardakani is also pursuing a PhD at Murdoch University. His research outputs total at least 16 publications with over 240 citations.
