Rate My Professor Eric Maskin

From 2000 to 2011, Maskin held the position of Albert O. Hirschman Professor of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. He also served as Visiting Lecturer in Economics at Princeton University from 2000 to 2012. In 2012, he returned to Harvard University as Adams University Professor and Professor of Economics and Mathematics. Maskin received the 2007 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, shared with Leonid Hurwicz and Roger Myerson, for laying the foundations of mechanism design theory. His research focuses on game theory, contract theory, social choice theory, and political economy. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, elected in 1994, a member of the National Academy of Sciences, elected in 2008, and has received numerous other honors, including honorary doctorates from multiple institutions. Maskin has delivered many named lectures and held leadership roles in professional societies such as the Econometric Society and the Game Theory Society.
