Erin Connelly-Whyte earned a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy from the University of Otago, graduating in December 2023. She performed in two University of Otago graduation ceremonies that month, including her own. As a soprano, she has built a performance career in Dunedin. Achievements include winning the ODT Aria 2024, placing second in the ODT Southern Aria Final in September 2023, and first prize in recent vocal competitions. She is an alumna of the NZ Opera School, class of 2026, and studying classical voice performance at the University of Otago. She serves as Vocal Coach at Ōtepoti Studios for The Voice Lab New Zealand. Performances encompass guest soprano with Southern Consort of Voices, soloist with Dunedin RSA Choir alongside Claire Barton and Rosie McAllister, Anzac Day concert in April 2025 with MSA Men's Choir and Orchestra in a free public event, Isaac Theatre Royal 10th Anniversary Gala in November 2024, Opera Otago Potluck medley, Great Opera Moments featuring 'Senza mamma' noted for breath control and long suspended phrases, and University of Otago lunchtime concert series. Originally from Ashburton, she received a scholarship from Advance Ashburton as a classical voice student enrolled in the Health Sciences program at Otago.
