Fabiana Cardoso Pereira Valera is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto, Universidade de São Paulo. She earned her medical degree from the Universidade de São Paulo in 1997, followed by a master’s degree in 2002 and a doctoral degree in 2006, both in Otorhinolaryngology from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto, Universidade de São Paulo. Her research focuses on the pathophysiology of inflammatory nasosinusal diseases, anthropometric and functional studies of the human face, and the pathophysiology of obstructive sleep apnea. She maintains active lines of investigation in rhinology, pediatric otorhinolaryngology, and sleep medicine.
Valera holds the position of Associate Professor and serves as a productivity fellow (PQ-1D) of the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico. She has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications on topics including nasal polyps, rhinosinusitis, adenoid hypertrophy, and surgical outcomes in otorhinolaryngology. In addition to her academic appointments, she has held leadership roles such as president of the Academia Brasileira de Rinologia. Her work appears in journals including the Brazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology and has been cited extensively in the field.
