Dr. Farveh Farivar is a Senior Lecturer in Innovation and Strategy in the School of Management and Marketing, Faculty of Business and Law, at Curtin University. She serves as Course Lead for the Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and as Senior Advisor. With a PhD in Management from Curtin University awarded in 2015, she has over 12 years of experience in tertiary education and private sectors. Previously affiliated with the University of Tasmania's Tasmanian School of Business and Economics, she has managed and delivered medium- to large-scale industry projects as a senior consultant.
Farveh Farivar's academic interests center on behavioral aspects of computing, work digitalization, digital strategies, and the work-life interface. Her research employs advanced methodologies including fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis, machine learning algorithms, and qualitative comparative analysis in mixed-methods research designs. She has published in top-tier journals such as Human Resource Management Journal ("More to life than promotion: Self-initiated and self-resigned career plateaus," 2024), International Journal of Human Resource Management ("Constant connectivity and boundary management behaviors: the role of human agency," 2024), New Technology, Work and Employment ("Digital intrusions or distraction at work and work-life conflict," 2022), Personnel Review, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and International Journal of Manpower. Notable publications also include "Configurational demographic predictors of work–nonwork satisfaction" (2019), "The unanticipated road to skills wastage for skilled migrants: the non-recognition of overseas qualifications and experience" (2019), "International graduates and the change of initial career mobility intentions" (2019), and "The Job Seeking Experiences of International Graduates in the Host Country: Australia’s Lost Opportunity?" (2018). Her work has accumulated over 700 citations on Google Scholar, underscoring her impact in management scholarship, particularly on digital transformation and employee behaviors. She serves on the editorial board of Digital Business, received the Emerald Publishing School of Management Teaching Excellence Award in 2017 and the Innovative Management Educator of the Year Award, and contributes to the Curtinnovation Awards 2025.
