About Fengyu

Fengyu Li is a professor at Jinan University in the College of Chemistry and Materials. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Chemistry Department at Zhengzhou University between 1998 and 2002 and his Ph.D. from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008. Following his doctorate, he completed postdoctoral research at Bowling Green State University in the United States from 2008 to 2011. He subsequently held positions as assistant researcher and associate researcher at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2012 to 2018 before joining Jinan University as professor in 2018.

His research focuses on photonic crystal materials, multi-analyte sensing, flexible electronics, printed assembly, and 3D printing manufacture. He has advanced high-performance multi-analyte recognition using single and simple dyes and developed multi-resolution nano/micro flexible photonic and electronic device integration. Li has published over 90 SCI papers as first or corresponding author in journals including Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Advanced Materials, and Analytical Chemistry, with more than 50 papers received and 15 selected as journal covers or inside covers. He has applied for seven Chinese invention patents and two international patents, with two authorized. He contributed chapters to two academic books and serves as a member of the International Electrotechnical Commission, proposing China's first international standard for printed electronics. He also drafted the Chinese Printing Manufacture Technology Roadmap. His work emphasizes bioinspired mechanisms for perception, complex system analysis, micro/nano sensors, photonic crystals, and flexible electronic devices, particularly in areas such as motion monitoring and analysis.
