Fran Wright serves as the Marketing Adviser for the University of Otago's Wellington campus within the Division of Health Sciences. She is the primary point of contact for marketing activities across all Wellington departments, ensuring initiatives are strategically aligned, easy to implement, and achieve great results. Fran liaises with the Marketing Services team in Dunedin on behalf of Wellington staff and works closely with the Wellington-based Communications Adviser and Events Coordinator. Her role supports the promotion of academic programs, research, and public engagement efforts at the campus.
An Otago graduate with degrees in Commerce and Science, Fran joined the University of Otago in 2012 as the Marketing and Web Manager for the Department of Public Health at the Wellington campus, a position she held until 2018. Prior to this, she had over 15 years of experience in brand and product marketing roles across sectors including healthcare, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and telecommunications. Fran has been the designated contact for numerous events, including the Public Health Summer School, UOW Pride Symposium 2026, Hot Topics in Rehabilitation online masterclass, Innovations in Stroke Care public talk, and Hot Topics in Public Health masterclass. She co-developed the Wellington campus's three-minute 'ME-thsis' talks with photographer Luke Pilkinton-Ching, providing an engaging platform for staff and students to present research. Through these contributions, Fran enhances external communications and event marketing for the Division of Health Sciences.
