Dr. Frederick A. Aikens, D.M., serves as Dean and Professor of the College of Business at Central State University, where he oversees academic programs and promotes excellence in business education. A distinguished alumnus of the university, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Central State University in 1988. Dr. Aikens began his higher education career at Central State University as an adjunct professor in 2009, progressively advancing through the academic ranks to assistant professor and associate professor. He held the position of Chair of the Department of Business Administration and served as interim dean of the College of Business prior to his appointment as dean. Dr. Aikens played a pivotal role in spearheading the creation of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program and currently coordinates it. His leadership extends to previous roles as director of the CSU Honors Program and Administrative Fellow in the Division of Academic Affairs, contributing significantly to institutional advancement and student development.
Dr. Aikens' academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Management from Antioch University and a Doctor of Management from the University of Phoenix. Bringing over 30 years of professional experience in management to his positions, he imparts practical knowledge in business administration and related fields. In recognition of his outstanding contributions as an academic mentor, educator, and leader, Dr. Aikens was inducted into the National Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class during Central State University's 138th Charter Day Convocation on March 4, 2025. There, he reflected on the university's role in his success and stressed the need to equip students to address modern challenges effectively. Through his dedicated service, Dr. Aikens upholds Central State University's commitment to preparing diverse students for leadership, research, and community engagement in the business sector.
