Griffith specializes in agribusiness economics, applying economic models to assess impacts of technological changes, advertising, and policies on Australian agricultural industries, including benefit distribution across market structures and price formation in food and fibre markets. Notable publications include "Agricultural Markets and Marketing Policies," "Product Quality Information in Supply Chains: A Performance-Linked Conceptual Framework Applied to the Australian Red Meat Industry," "Turning a Negative into a Positive: What to Do About Negative Externalities from Nitrogen Used in Farming," "Food Loss and Waste in Maize in Mozambique and its Economic Impacts," and "Market Power in the Australian Chicken Meat Industry." He was honored as the 2010 Distinguished Fellow by the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society.
