About Gayal
Gayal Rangajeewa serves as a Lecturer at Curtin University through the Curtin Colombo program at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), within the Global Curtin portfolio. He is also an Academic Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SLIIT's Faculty of Engineering. Rangajeewa holds a BSc Engineering (Honours) degree specialized in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, awarded in 2008, and a Master of Business Administration in Management of Technology from the same university in 2015. His academic and professional journey reflects a strong foundation in mechanical engineering combined with business acumen in technology management.
Throughout his career, Rangajeewa has held several key industry positions, including Chief Consultant at Methigami Engineering Pvt Ltd, Plant Manager at Ceylon Graphene Technologies Pvt Ltd—a subsidiary of LOLC Advanced Technologies—Manager of Engineering at the Sri Lanka Institute of Nano Technology (SLINTEC) Pvt Ltd, Assistant Quality Manager at Solex Engineering Pvt Ltd, Design Engineer at City Engravers Pvt Ltd, and Mechanical Engineer at Ansell Lanka Pvt Ltd. He is a member of The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL). Rangajeewa's research interests encompass graphene, nanotechnology, CAD/CAM, manufacturing technology, and CAE. He has contributed to scholarly work, notably co-authoring the paper "Identification of factors for the success of the Sri Lankan independent inventors" published in the International Journal of Business and Globalization (Volume 25, Issue 2, 2023, pp. 241-263). Additionally, he has served in organizational roles such as Inauguration and Closing Chair for the SLIIT International Conference on Engineering and Technology (SICET). His work bridges academia and industry, focusing on innovative engineering solutions.
