Georgia Warren-Myers

Georgia Warren-Myers is an Associate Professor in Property in the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne, affiliated with the Melbourne School of Design. She earned her PhD from the University of Melbourne, focusing on real estate valuation and valuing sustainability, and a Bachelor of Property and Construction (Honours) from the same university. With over 20 years of experience spanning academia and the property industry, including positions in property development, valuation, and sustainability consulting, she has established herself as a key figure in integrating environmental considerations into property practices.

Her research specializations include the valuation of sustainability in real estate, climate change risks to property, energy efficiency disclosures in housing markets, and adaptation strategies in the construction sector. Notable publications encompass 'Using the theory of planned behaviour to predict intentions to purchase sustainable housing' (Journal of Cleaner Production, 2019), 'The value of sustainability in real estate: a review from a valuation perspective' (Journal of Property Investment & Finance, 2012), 'Does voluntary disclosure create a green lemon problem? Energy-efficiency ratings and house prices' (Energy Economics, 2018), 'Barriers to climate change adaptation in the Australian construction industry–Impetus for regulatory reform' (Building and Environment, 2018), and 'Is the Australian construction industry prepared for climate change?' (Building and Environment, 2019). She has led projects such as APREF - Valuation @ Risk and contributed to Integrating Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in Built Environments. Warren-Myers received the Dyason Fellowship in 2016 for 'Valuing the risk of Climate Change for Property in Australia' and served as a visiting research fellow at the University of Cambridge.
