Professor Gerard Goh is an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery, School of Translational Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University. He holds the position of Head of Interventional Radiology and Consultant Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist at Alfred Health. Goh completed his medical training and radiology training in Adelaide, Australia, followed by positions at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, where he served as Clinical Lecturer in Interventional Radiology for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and at St George’s Hospital in London, United Kingdom, as Honorary Senior Lecturer for St George’s University of London. His qualifications include MBBS, FRANZCR, EBIR-ES, FSIR, and FCIRSE.
Goh's research specializations encompass vascular and complex vascular interventions, embolisation, trauma, and clinical trials, with involvement in numerous clinical trials including first-in-human studies as global principal investigator. Key publications include "Pregnancy and Uterine Artery Embolisation: Myth Busted" (2025, CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology), "The Use of Large Language Models in Scientific Manuscript Writing and Editing in Interventional Radiology" (2025, CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology), "A cross-sectional study assessing the role of interventional radiology services in regional and remote Australia" (2024, Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology), and "A New Bean to Count: Promoting Clinical Output Metrics in Interventional Radiology" (2024, CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology). He serves as Regional Editor for CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology, Senior Editor for Interventional Radiology, and Associate Editor for Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology. Goh has earned fellowships EBIR-ES, FSIR, and FCIRSE, and held leadership positions such as Past President of the Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (2021-2022), Dean of the Faculty of Clinical Radiology at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (2022), Board Member of RANZCR (2022), Secretary General of the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (2025-2027), and Council Member of the European Board of Interventional Radiology. As an honorary research fellow for the National Trauma Research Institute, he has delivered over 220 invited international presentations, led over 50 workshops, and authored three book chapters, significantly impacting interventional radiology.
