Grant Mincy earned a B.S. in Geology from the University of Tennessee in 2007 and an M.S. in Geology from the University of Tennessee in 2012. His graduate thesis examined mussel survivorship, growth rate, and shell decay rate in the New River Basin. He serves as Associate Professor in the Natural and Behavioral Sciences division at Pellissippi State Community College, where his areas of expertise include environmental science, biodiversity, and experiential learning. Mincy teaches courses in biology, paleobiology, and geology. He co-authored the sixth edition of the textbook Environmental Science: Systems and Solutions, published in 2016.
