Gregary Bocsi, DO, MS, serves as Associate Professor of Pathology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where he also holds the positions of Director of the University of Colorado Hospital Clinical Laboratories and Vice Chair for Clinical Pathology in the Department of Pathology. His academic journey began with a BS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 1997, followed by a DO from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005, and an MS in Health Sciences Informatics from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2008. Bocsi completed his postdoctoral training with a fellowship in Clinical Informatics at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine from 2006 to 2008, a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was Chief Resident, concluding in 2012, and a fellowship in Molecular Genetic Pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania from 2012 to 2013.
He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology since 2012, Molecular Genetic Pathology since 2013, and Clinical Informatics since 2014. Bocsi has authored or co-authored 22 peer-reviewed publications focusing on laboratory medicine, pathology quality measures, molecular diagnostics, and clinical informatics applications. Key publications include "Laboratory Workup of Amyloidosis" published in Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine in 2025; "Creation of a Quality Payment Program Measure for Mismatch Repair or Microsatellite Instability Biomarker Testing Status in Colorectal, Endometrial, Gastroesophageal, or Small Bowel Carcinoma" in Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine in 2024; "Longitudinal Qualitative and Quantitative Evaluation of SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies in Immunized Health Care Workers" also in Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine in 2024; "ABO Blood Groups Are Not Associated With COVID-19 Disease Incidence and Severity When Correcting for Ethnicity Differences in Blood Type" in American Journal of Clinical Pathology in 2022; and "Laboratory Detection and Initial Diagnosis of Monoclonal Gammopathies" in Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine in 2022. His work has contributed to clinical guidelines and quality improvement initiatives, including collaborations with the American Gastroenterological Association and College of American Pathologists. Bocsi has also served as President of the Faculty Senate and presented on topics such as point-of-care testing and pathologist participation in CMS quality payment programs.
