About Gwilym

Associate Professor Gwilym Croucher is Deputy Director and Associate Professor in Higher Education Policy and Management at the Centre for the Study of Higher Education, University of Melbourne, within the Faculty of Education. His research examines the political economy of higher education, encompassing policy development, university governance, leadership, international higher education, and longitudinal changes in university workforces. As a former Fulbright Victorian Postdoctoral Scholar in 2017-18, he served as a visiting fellow at the University of California, Berkeley's Center for Studies in Higher Education, where he investigated support for fundamental research in US universities. Croucher holds a PhD and has progressed through roles including Senior Lecturer and Principal Policy Adviser in the University Chancellery.
