About Hamid

Dr. Hamid Bahrami is currently the Professor and Chair at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Mississippi, having joined in 2024. Before this appointment, he was a Professor in the ECE department at the University of Akron, Ohio, and served as the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies there for seven years. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, obtained in 2008. He also possesses an M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran in 2003, and a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2001. Between 2007 and 2009, prior to his academic career at Akron, Dr. Bahrami worked as a scientist at Wavesat Inc. (now Marvell Technology) in Montreal, Canada, where he led an R&D team responsible for developing MIMO transmission and reception algorithms for 4G wireless technologies, including the WiMAX and LTE standards.
