About Hamid Reza

Hamid Reza Godini serves as Associate Professor in Energy Carriers in Green Energy Transition within the Department of Energy and Mechanical Engineering at Aalto University School of Engineering. His research focuses on the production and utilization of hydrogen energy carriers to improve energy efficiency in chemical processes, advance circular economy principles, and minimize emissions and waste. This work extends his earlier contributions to efficient technologies for sustainable energy and feedstock utilization. Godini is affiliated with the Energy Conversion and Systems research group and holds ORCID iD 0000-0003-0071-9288.

Prior to joining Aalto University in spring 2025, Godini was a researcher at the Chair of Process Dynamics and Operations, Technische Universität Berlin, where he specialized in process engineering and catalysis. He received the VBKI Science Award in 2015 for his Dr.-Ing. dissertation, “Analysis of Individual and Integrated Packed-Bed Membrane Reactor for Oxidative Coupling of Methane,” conducted within the UniCat research group under Professor Günter Wozny. His publications demonstrate expertise in oxidative coupling of methane (OCM), CO2 utilization, and advanced catalytic materials. Notable works include "Correlating the Characteristics and Catalytic Performance of Mn-Na-W-Ox/SiO2 for Oxidative Coupling of Methane" (Inorganics, 2025), "Performance Enhancement in Pt-CeO2@SiO2 Core-Sheath Nanofibers in the Dehydrogenation of Cycloalkanes and Alkanes" (ACS Applied Nano Materials, 2025), "Anodic electrodeposition of MIL-53(Al) thin films on aluminum: Synthesis, characterization, and potential for direct electric heating" (Microporous and Mesoporous Materials, 2026), "Impacts of Catalysts Characteristics up to Industrial-Scale Operation Conditions in Direct Methane Aromatization" (Catalysts, 2020), and "Techno-economic analysis of integrating the methane oxidative coupling and methane reforming processes" (Journal of Membrane Science, 2013). With 92 publications and over 1,478 citations documented on ResearchGate, Godini's research impacts sustainable process intensification and green energy transition in chemical engineering.
