Hang Zou is a postdoctoral researcher at Khalifa University in the Digital Future Institute. He previously served as a researcher at the Technology Innovation Institute in Abu Dhabi from 2022 to 2025. Zou earned his Ph.D. degree in 2022 from the Laboratoire des Signaux et Systèmes at CentraleSupélec, Paris-Saclay University. He received an M.Sc. degree in Advanced Wireless Communication Systems from CentraleSupélec and Paris-Saclay University in 2018. He holds B.Sc. degrees in Optical and Electronic Information from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China and in Information, Systems, and Technology from a French institution, both awarded in 2016.
Zou conducts research at the intersection of large language models and telecommunications. His interests include semantic communications, goal-oriented communications, generative AI model compression, and LLM-powered telecom applications. He has contributed to projects such as TelecomGPT, a telecom-specific large language model, and RF-GPT, which explores radio-frequency language models for reasoning about wireless signals. Zou works under the supervision of Professor Mérouane Debbah at Khalifa University.
