About Hanh

Hanh Hoang is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Marketing at the UWA Business School, The University of Western Australia, where she also serves as a Casual Teaching staff member across multiple disciplines and as a Research Assistant within the Business School. Prior to commencing her doctoral studies at UWA, Hanh Hoang worked as a Lecturer in Marketing in Vietnam. She holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Tilburg University, awarded on 17 December 2010, and a Bachelor of Economics in International Business from Foreign Trade University, awarded on 30 June 2009.

Hanh Hoang's research interests span digital and social media marketing, brand management, and data analytics. Her specific areas of focus include branding and brand management, social media marketing, brand activism, cause marketing, and digital marketing. Her doctoral research particularly aims to investigate firms' strategies for engaging in social media activism, as well as their purpose-driven online branding strategies that promote positive social change. In her scholarly contributions, Hanh Hoang has co-authored several publications. Notable among them is "Financial earthquakes and aftershocks: From Brexit to Russia-Ukraine conflict and the stability of European banks," published in October 2023 in the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money (Volume 88, Article 101830), co-authored with P. T. T. Vu, N. Huynh, and H. Phan. Another key work is "Personalisation-Privacy Paradox from Marketing Perspectives: Literature Review and Future Research Directions," featured in the 2023 book Business Innovation for the Post-pandemic Era in Vietnam by Springer Nature, co-authored with L. S. Nguyen, C. H. Nguyen, N. V. Le, N. T. Nguyen, and L. T. Dinh. Additionally, she contributed to "Does financial integration matter for financial development? Evidence from the East Asian and Pacific Region," published in December 2019 in the Journal of Economic Integration (Volume 34, Issue 4, pages 591-618), with F. Taghizadeh-Hesary, N. T. M. Phi, H. H. T. Hong, and V. T. Chu.
