Prof. Dr. Harmeet Kaur Bhasin is the Principal, Professor, and Head of the Department of Commerce at Lala Lajpatrai College of Commerce and Economics, an autonomous institution affiliated with the University of Mumbai and accredited with NAAC ‘A’ Grade (CGPA 3.20 in the 4th cycle). She holds a Ph.D. from JDBIMS-SNDT University, with her doctoral research focused on “Study of Visual Merchandising practices in Retail Industry in Mumbai with special reference to cosmetics and perfumes.” Her academic qualifications also include M.Com., B.Ed., and SET. Prior to her current role, Dr. Bhasin served as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce at St. Andrew's College of Arts, Science and Commerce. She has enhanced her professional development through one Orientation Course, multiple Refresher Courses from the UGC-Academic Staff College, University of Mumbai, one Refresher Course from TISS, and one Short Term Course from the UGC-Academic Staff College, University of Mumbai. She has attended workshops on syllabus revision and research methodology.
Dr. Bhasin's research specializations encompass visual merchandising, retail design, customer loyalty, e-commerce, omni-channel retailing, innovative teaching practices, and customer experience in retail.
