About Hideaki

Hideaki Imamura is a Professor in the Faculty of Economics at Niigata Sangyo University, a position he has held since April 2021. He earned a Bachelor's degree from the Department of Economics at the University of Tokyo, an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in June 1991, and a Master's degree in Literature from the Graduate School of Letters at Toyo University, specializing in Buddhist Studies, in March 2012. Imamura's professional career began at Mitsubishi Corporation from April 1979 to June 1989, followed by a tenure at Boston Consulting Group from September 1991 to March 2010. He transitioned to academia as a Guest Professor at the Graduate School of Business Administration at Shinshu University from April 2004 to March 2010. Subsequently, he served as a Professor at Shinshu University's Academic Research Institute from April 2010 to March 2021. In addition, he has been a Guest Professor at Waseda University's Graduate School of Business and Commerce since April 2010.

Imamura's research focuses on commerce and business administration. At Niigata Sangyo University, he teaches Marketing Theory, Business Theory, and Social Survey Methods, and serves on the Employment Committee. He is affiliated with the International Development Society and the Organization Society. His key publications include the books 'MBA Business Design: Basics and Applications of Strategy Design' (co-authored, Nikkei BP, June 2015), 'There Are Precursors in All Collapsing Organizations' (sole-authored, PHP Institute, May 2013), and 'Introduction to Green MOT' (co-authored, Chuo Keizai Sha, April 2011). Selected peer-reviewed papers from Innovation Management Research encompass 'CMO as Change Agent (Chief Marketing Officer)' (sole-authored, 2015), 'The Marketing CEO: A Hypothetical Essay on Managerial Marketing' (sole-authored, 2015), 'Tentative Discussion on Organizational Model for Consumer Lifestyle Change – Hypothesis Building Using Buddhist Sangha' (sole-authored, 2012), and 'Tentative Discussion on Symbiotic Co-evolutionary Corporate Model: Hypothesis Building Using Super Long-lived Companies' (sole-authored, 2011). Imamura has delivered lectures such as 'Global Enterprise Work' for the Nagano Prefecture Regional Commerce Culture Creation Association in June 2017 and chaired the Nagano City Water and Sewerage Business Management Review Committee from June 2013 to June 2016.
