About Hidenori

Hidenori Fukuoka serves as Lecturer in the Division of Diabetes and Endocrinology, Department of Internal Medicine, at Kobe University Hospital. He holds MD and PhD degrees. His research centers on endocrinology, with particular emphasis on pituitary disorders including Cushing’s disease, acromegaly, Rathke’s cleft cysts, and congenital pituitary hypoplasia modeled using patient-derived iPS cells. He has also investigated autoimmune endocrine diseases triggered by thymomas and paraneoplastic syndromes. Fukuoka has authored or co-authored more than 179 research works that have received over 4,000 citations. His contributions include publications on the management of Cushing’s disease, molecular markers of pituitary conditions, and glucocorticoid resistance syndrome. He has participated in international efforts such as patient surveys on pituitary incidentalomas conducted by the Pituitary Society. Earlier affiliations include work at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in endocrinology. Fukuoka remains active in clinical and research roles at Kobe University, contributing to advances in hormone biology and related fields.
